Sheriff’s Report – Aug. 4

Sheriffs reported to an accident at State 23 and County 0J in Plymouth Aug. 3 about 9:35 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, they found a GMC Acadia owned by Lewis A. Schmidt, 74, of Elkhart Lake in the northbound ditch of State 23.

Schmidt, who was northbound on County OJ, was stopped at a stop sign. He proceeded to cross the eastbound lane and then attempted to cross the westbound lane of State 23. He collided with a semi driven by Brian Blair, 48, of Winter, Wis., causing the semi to jackknife.

Schmidt was transported to Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Schmidt was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

A car collided with a bicycle in the town of Wilson Aug. 3 about 1:30 p.m. on South 12th Street and Riverdale Road. A car driven by Tracy Taylor, 43, of Fond du Lac was backing out of a driveway on South 12th Street when she collided with a bicycle ridden by Paul Becker, 15.

Becker was not injured.
