Road America to host drive-in movie Aug. 20 for charity

Road America, Elkhart Lake, will host a traditional drive-in movie Friday, Aug. 20, in conjunction with their American Le Mans race weekend.

The award-winning documentary “Racing Dreams,” produced by Whitefish Bay native Jack Turner, will be the featured film of the evening. Licensing rights for “Racing Dream,” which is currently still in the theatres, is being made possible by the Briggs & Stratton Motorsports division of Wisconsin.

The 96-minute movie follows the career of three teens aspiring to a racing career while getting their start in go-karts.

Cost to attend the film is $10 per carload plus one non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army food pantry program. The event is open to the public.

Track entrance is via Gate 6 on State 67 anytime between 7-8 p.m. for drive-in parking at the outside of Turn 14. Cartoons will begin at approximately 8:15 followed by the featured film at 8:30 p.m. Concessions will be available on-site for purchase.
