CPN Hair Studio holds auction to benefit cancer care fund
CPN Hair Studio recently raised more than $3,000 for the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund in honor of co-worker and cancer survivor, Paula Weiss. During the entire month of June and ending at the conclusion of Mill Street Days on Saturday, July 10, CPN Hair Studio held a silent auction to raise money for the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund (SSCCF).
“Over the past few years, we’ve tried to give back to organizations that are making a difference in the lives of those struggling with sickness. The last two years we coordinated a cut-a-thon that raised funds for Project Angel Hugs, a local organization that provides gift packages, parties and emotional support to children with cancer and their families,” commented Carla Nicolaus, owner of CPN Hair Studio.
“This year we all agreed we wanted to do something in honor of Paula Weiss, our co-worker who went through breast cancer last year. She suggested SCCCF because of all they did to help her and her family in the fight against cancer,” added Carla Nicolaus of CPN.
The Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund is dedicated to improving the health, well-being and quality of life for individuals and families of Sheboygan County who have been diagnosed with cancer or a disease of the blood.
Nicolaus created a community outreach letter that asked businesses to donate items for the silent auction. She was overwhelmed by the response. “I never imagined that we’d have that much support. We received such generous support from both businesses and our clients, that we truly believe this donation can make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer, said Nicolaus. Thank you to everyone who helped make this successful, we sincerely appreciate your support!”
There were a total of 20 organizations that donated to the silent auction: 52 Stafford, Back Door Bike Shop, Bernadette Biller Massage Therapy, Culver’s of Plymouth, Dairy Queen of Plymouth, DeO’Malley’s Pizza Pub, Jackie Ausloos, Jane Martindale, Jodi Pratt Tupperware, Lindsay Klahn, Mary Kraus, Photos by Leslie Faye, Quit Qui Oc Golf Course, Schwartz Photography, Sir Lancelot Golf Course, Tom & Jerry’s Mini Golf, Weiss Implement, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Sargento Foods.
