LTC named military friendly in top 15%
Lakeshore Technical College, Cleveland, has been named a Military Friendly School for the second year in a row by G.I. Jobs magazine.
The recognition ranks LTC in the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. The decision was based on years of research, survey result compilation and analysis of other data.
“LTC is committed to providing accessible education options to all individuals, and we hope that our recent efforts to expand the resources available to veterans have shown them that we’re dedicated to helping them succeed,” LTC President Michael Lanser said.
The college offers many resources to veterans through established groups like the LTC Veterans Resources Team and LTC Student Veterans Association, as well as through admissions and counseling, financial aid, learner support and disability services, and minority services.
LTC expanded its veteran-related activities in the 2009-10 academic year by holding the first-annual LTC Veterans Day Ceremony in November and hosting the Supermarket For Veterans Benefits in June.
“Clearly you have an interest in recruiting military students, and I urge you to continue your already stellar efforts by improving your military-friendliness every year,” said Rich McCormack, publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine. “On behalf of the 8 million military members and veterans seeking a school, I thank you for your commitment to educating our nation's most deserving heroes.”
