Fohr sparks unbeaten Panthers in rout
Senior forward Zach Fohr booted four goals to propel Plymouth to an 8-0 rout over host Kewaskum Monday afternoon.
The shutout was the Panthers’ fifth straight as they continued their dominance in Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys soccer this season. PHS remained unbeaten – improving to 3-0 in the EWC and 7-0 overall.
Senior midfielder Ben Schuldt had a hat trick and Sam Zwick’s goal accounted for the rest of the Panthers’ scoring. Brad Mallmann had a team-high two assists and Fohr and Zwick had one each.
PHS had an impressive 26 shots on goal (42 total shots) to only two for the Indians. Panther goalie Jon Hintz made two saves.
“We were missing our usual intensity and as a result didn't play quite as well. We relied a lot more on the effort of certain individuals instead of a team game and that was disappointing,” said PHS head coach Sam Schroeder.
“We left a lot on the table and to come away with eight goals from 42 shots attempted is not up to the expectations we've outlined for ourselves as a team this season.”
SHEB. CHRISTIAN GAME
In nonconference play Saturday morning in Plymouth, the Panthers cruised to a lopsided 9-0 win over Sheboygan Christian.
Fohr spearheaded the Panthers’ powerful attack with four goals. Josh Suchon, Logan Ryan, Paul Thompson, Schuldt and Scott Koening tallied one goal apiece.
Mallmann led in assists with three. Zwick, Schuldt, Franz Tadych and Fohr had one each. PHS led in shots on goal, 17-2. Hintz made two saves.
