Panther spikers earn sweep in home debut

PLYMOUTH – Strong hitting powered the Plymouth Panthers to a sweep in their girls volleyball home opener Tuesday night.

PHS dominated Sturgeon Bay, 25-12, 25-8, 25-15 in the nonconference match. The Panthers racked up 27 spike kills, led by Marissa Grapentine and Rachael Cecka with seven each and Johanna Egerer, four.

Emma Addy paced the Panthers in assists with 14. PHS was 62 of 66 in serving for 94 percent, led by Michelle Hilke at 20 of 20. Lizzie Rooker had a team-best two ace serves.

Clarice Hnilicka led PHS in digs with nine, followed by Egerer with six. Megan Flood and Hilke were first in solo blocks with two apiece.
