Haveys celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Wayne and Evelyn Havey of 78 Green Bay Court, Sheboygan Falls, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, with a reception, dance and dinner at Town and Country Club, Sheboygan.

They were married Aug. 26, 1950 at St. Joseph Rectory, Madison.

She was born June 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Dirienzo, Madison. She enjoys grandchildren, traveling, and square dancing.

He was born June 1, 1928, the son of the late Willie and Ina Havey, Stoughton. He was employed by Sheboygan Falls School District as a science teacher and principal, retiring after 34 years. He is also involved in the real estate and rental business. He was a founder of Havey-Sauer Tours relative to square dancing, and Evelyn and he are charter members of Kettle Squares Square Dance Club. He is a former Boy Scout leader and had been a Sunday school superintendent. He is a former member of Kiwanis and Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street organizations and is entertainment director of Lily Lake Resort, Frostproof, Fla. He also enjoys gardening.

The couple attend St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Falls; and Lake Wales Lutheran Church, Lake Wales, Fla. They are directors of the Young at Heart Program, Lake Wales.

Their family includes three children and four grandchildren: two daughters, Kelly (John) Mess and their children, Katie and Andrew Mess, of Bellevue, Wash., and Heidi (Joe) Timm and their children, Chelsey and Danielle Timm, of Germantown; and one son, Kim Havey of Minneapolis, Minn.
