Saving lives is theme of Plymouth blood drive Sept. 21
Saving lives of your loved ones, neighbors and friends is the theme of the 2010 series of blood drives for the city of Plymouth. The next drive is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1808 Eastern Ave. The hours will be from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
Sponsoring the fall blood drive is the Plymouth Lions Club and the American Legion Post, with Redeemer Lutheran Church providing the facility. The B1oodCenter of Wisconsin will be hosting the drives and supplying the technicians.
The BloodCenter of Wisconsin, a not-for-profit organization, needs over 800 pints per day to supply the 50-plus area hospitals in southeastern Wisconsin including Aurora Surgical Center (Plymouth), St. Nicholas Hospital (Sheboygan), Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center (Sheboygan) and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (Milwaukee).
A donor may give blood every eight weeks, with the schedule set-up, so a single donor could give up to six times per year if they would like. The last blood drive for the year is Tuesday, Nov. 16.
Walk-ins are very welcome, but appointments are taken first. If you need to schedule a specific time, call 892-2243 and leave your name and what time you would like to donate.
