CHARLES VERNON “CHUCK” GEHRTS

Chuck Gehrts was born Oct. 23, 1937 in Radisson, Wis., and raised in Plymouth. He died suddenly at home in Seattle on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.

He is survived by his sons, Matthew and Jonathan; daughter, Melinda Costa; granddaughter, Miranda; as well as a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann in 2005.

Chuck proudly served in three branches of the military, retiring in 1992 from the Army Reserves after 36 years of service to his country, and then continued to be actively involved in American Legion Post 124. He also worked for Metro Transit for 34 years until his retirement in 1996.

As a dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 40 years, Chuck served in many capacities, including youth group leader and as a member of the church council.

Chuck will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for making life friends wherever he went.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Faith Lutheran Church, 8208 18th Ave. N.E., Seattle, WA 98115.
