Sheriff’s Report – Sept. 8

Two vehicles were involved in an accident on County A and County EE in the town of Wilson on Sept. 5 about 12:50 p.m. A Toyota Sienna driven by John A. Daane, 69, of Sheboygan was stopped at a stop sign, facing west, on County EE. A Yamaha Venture motorcycle driven by Peter Strains, 52, of Sheboygan Falls was northbound on County A when the Daane vehicle proceeded westbound from the stop sign into the path of Strains. Strains applied his brakes causing him to put the bike down on its right side.

Strains was wearing a helmet. Daane sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Strains was transported to Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center via Orange Cross ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.

Daane was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

Two vehicles were involved in an accident on State 67 and Highview Road in the town of Rhine on Sunday, Sept. 5, at about 5:30 p.m. Both cars were traveling northbound on State 67 when a Toyota Camry driven by Elisabeth Kuhn, 49, of New Holstein stopped suddenly to avoid hitting a deer crossing the road. A Mazda driven by Adam W. Turner, 29, of Plymouth rear-ended the Kuhn vehicle causing it to be pushed into the east ditch upon impact.

A passenger in the Turner car, Kelly Stardy, 50, of McKinney, Texas, was transported to St. Nicholas Hospital for treatment of a laceration to her left ear.

Turner was cited for following too close.
