Panthers cruise to win in opener

WEST BEND – Juniors Sarah Coley and Kate Criter were double-winners in leading the Plymouth girls swimming/diving team to a 132-53 rout over West Bend East here Thursday night.

The nonconference victory upped the Panthers’ dual record to 2-0. Criter won the 100-meter breaststroke with a pool-record 1 minute, 13.17 seconds and the 100 butterfly. Coley took first in the 100 and 200 freestyle races.

“The kids swam well. We saw small improvements across the board,” said Panther head coach Mike Slagle.

“It was hard to gauge [how much improvement] because it was a meter meet.” PHS won the junior varsity meet, 128-16.
