Tigers boot CLC record to 5-0

SHEBOYGAN – Howards Grove improved to 5-0 in Central Lakeshore Conference boys soccer with a 3-1 win over Sheboygan Christian here Thursday afternoon.

Senior forward Duston Rabe scored two goals and junior forward Nathan Mutsch had a goal and assist each to lead the Tigers. Mutsch’s goal gave Howards a 2-1 lead 15 minutes into the second half.

Paul Elzinga contributed an assist for the Tigers who upped their overall record to 8-1 and stretched their winning streak to seven.

“This was a hard-fought game by two good teams. Our guys started to unravel a bit in the second half but our leaders stepped up and encouraged everyone to remain focused,” said Tiger head coach Todd Fischer.

“I was proud that we regained our composure and were able to find the net a couple more times to secure the win.”

Garret Klotzbueher tallied the Eagles’ goal. The Tigers led in shots on goal, 13-4. Howards goalkeeper Carter Rockhill made three saves. Eagle goalie Brandon Wisse had 10 saves.
