Falcons blank Huskies

NEW HOLSTEIN – The Sheboygan Falls Falcons girls soccer team shut out the New Holstein Huskies 3-0 Thursday, April 7, in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference season opener for both squads

With the victory, Falls improved to 1-0 in the EWC (2-0 overall), while New Holstein began 0-1 in the EWC.

Falcon seniors Abby Debbink and Cassie Quirt scored unassisted goals in the first half to give the Falls squad a 2-0 lead.

Tiffany Fischer netted another goal for the Falcons in the second half to vault Falls to a 3-0 victory.

The Falls defense allowed just two shots on goal. Goalie Lilly Rotter was credited with both saves.

“We really played well,” said Falcons coach Brian Mentink. “We controlled the three quarters of the game. It was a great team effort.”
