Members of the Sheboygan Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) are offering a $1,600 scholarship to a nontraditional student for the 2012-13 school year. Both full- and parttime students are invited to apply, and the need for financial aid will be considered.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum age of 21 years;

• Reside within the geographic accessibility area of Sheboygan Branch AAUW;

• Be a nontraditional student (e.g., one who does not go to college directly after high school or one who begins a degree, drops out, and then returns to college); and

• Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate’s degree (or equivalent) or a bachelor’s degree at a technical school or other two- or four-year public or private college.

Interested students may request an application form directly by emailing sheboyganaauwscholarship@gmail.com or sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Joan Ketterman, 1618 Ohio Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081. Applications will also be available through local college financial aid offices or Sheboygan County libraries in February.

The application deadline is April 16 and the selected candidate will be notified after May 15, 2012.

Previous applicants are welcome to reapply.
