Falls Boy Scout Troop excels at winter camp

Sheboygan Falls Boy Scout Troop 885 attended The Klondike Winter Exploration at Camp Rokolio Jan. 21-22.

Many Boy Scout troops from the Bay Lakes Council, Lakeshore District participated and competed in a number of events, which consisted of fire building, shelter building, first aid, tug of war, gonzo golf, snowball target, broom ball, and moving firewood, which was a service project for the camp.

The traditional sled race was also held which consists of a dog sled made by each troop. The sled race is a timed event with two scouts pulling and one scout pushing the sled carrying one adult.

The scout patrols earn points at each event. One of the two patrols from Sheboygan Falls Troop 885 took second place in the sled race and second place in overall events. Troop 885 also tent camped overnight.
