EDWARD B. KAUTZER SR.

Edward B. Kautzer Sr., 83, of Sheboygan passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, in his home with his family by his side.

Ed was born Feb. 14, 1928, in the town of Liberty - Manitowoc County to the late Fred and Nora (Jurgens) Kautzer. He attended local schools in the Manitowoc area.

On Aug. 30, 1945, he married Adella Regutis.

He was the main body shop man at Rayward and Thomson, later known as Motorville, until ill health forced him to retire.

Ed was very generous with friends, relatives and strangers. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved riding his Harley-Davidson up until the age of 80 with his friends, sons, daughters, and grandchildren.

He was a master mechanic. If you needed something fixed, call Ed and it was done.

He enjoyed being outdoors, feeding the birds, and spending time in his yard.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Ed is survived by three sons: Frank (Linda) Kautzer, Manitowoc; Edward Jr. (Lanette) Kautzer, Sheboygan, and Mark (Laura) Kautzer, Sheboygan; and five daughters: Nancy (Philip) Black, Sheboygan Falls; JoAnn Greene, Sheboygan; Janice (Charles) Theobald, Sheboygan; Patricia (Glenn) Skrube, Sheboygan Falls, and Kathy Kautzer, Sheboygan. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Donald of Manitowoc and Jerry of Crivitz; his sister, Darlene (Willard) Meulbroek, Sheboygan; a brother-in-law, Joe Fierros of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sons, infant son Richard and a son Frederick; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Brotz; and a sister, Carol Fierros.

It was Ed's wish to be cremated and to have a private family service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
