Esther M. “Pat” Wals, age 84, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away late Friday evening, Jan. 27, 2012, at Plymouth Care Center where she had been a resident for the past two years.

She was born June 20, 1927 in Glenbeulah, Wis., a daughter of the late Arnold and Mae Shaw Titel. She attended Glenbeulah Grade School and Glenbeulah High School.

In August of 1948, she married Louis “Sig” Schultz in Sheboygan, Wis. The couple resided in Sheboygan and Florida after their marriage.

She worked at Smiley’s Restaurant in Sheboygan, also at the Colony Restaurant and the Mecca Restaurant, both in Florida.

On April 3, 1969, she married Ronald “Jake” Wals in Chicago, Ill. The couple resided in Plymouth after their marriage.

She was employed at the West Bend Co. for 23½ years, retiring in 1989.

Jake preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1980.

She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

She enjoyed oil painting and reading.

Survivors include one son, Tony (Beth) Schultz of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Tim (Kelly) Schultz of Appleton, Wis., and Tania Schulz of Plymouth; and three great-grandchildren, Bethany Schultz and Josh and Jordon Schultz. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Schultz; and one sister, Delores “Mikey” Rhode.

Following Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth.

A memorial fund is being established in her name.
