Harvest Fest Half Marathon slated in Sheboygan Sept. 28
Elkhart Lake MultiSports, Inc. is set to launch a new half marathon running event in Sheboygan on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Harvest Fest Half Marathon will compliment Sheboygan’s annual Harvest Fest, bringing morning festivities east of the Sheboygan River.
“We’re excited about bringing this new late season running event to Sheboygan,” said Jeff Grady, event co-race director and president/ owner of Elkhart Lake MultiSports, Inc.
Grady and fellow Co-Director Brett Edgerle are teaming up again to launch this inaugural event.
Grady and Edgerle have also partnered on bringing the XTERRA Dairyland off-road triathlon, now in its third year, to Sheboygan.
The race will start and finish at Blue Harbor Resort and proceed along a flat and fast course to Kohler-Andrae State Park for the turnaround.
A shorter 10K (6.2 mile) race is also included for those not ready for the longer distance event.
Festivities begin Friday, Sept. 27, with packet pickup and expo at Blue Harbor Resort.
The race will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with a post-race party, featuring music, games and food. slated to run until 1:30 p.m.
“The race is intended to be separate, but yet part of Harvest Fest,” said Edgerle. “We hope to give the fest a jump start when it opens on Saturday.”
Sponsors include Blue Harbor Resort and the Sheboygan Harbor Centre Business Improvement District.
“We look forward to working with the Resort and the Improvement District to bring a new exciting event to Sheboygan,” said Grady.

Proceeds from the race benefit Above & Beyond Children’s Museum in Sheboygan and the Oscar Mike Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping injured veterans get on the move.
