Oostdyks celebrate 60th wedding anniversary


PETER and LOIS OOSTDYK PETER and LOIS OOSTDYK Lois and Peter Oostdyk of 314 Highland Ave., Plymouth, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at S & R Bar and Restaurant, Plymouth, with a dinner and open house.

They were married Aug. 29, 1953, at Sheboygan Falls.

She was born Aug. 6, 1936, the daughter of Claire and Theresa Stephensen. She is a homemaker and worked at J.C. Penney and a minimart. She enjoys crocheting, singing, traveling, and reading.

He was born June 5, 1935, the son of Pete Lenz and Lila Oostdyk. He was a farmer, and past employment also included real estate agent and broker, Oostdyk & Wilke TV. His hobbies are fishing, playing cards, traveling, and games.

The couple are members of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Cedar Grove. Lois sings in the choir.

Their family includes four children: daughter Kathy (Bill) Novak of Sheboygan, son David (Michele) Oostdyk of Plymouth, daughter Leslie (Bart) Bailey of Peotone, Ill., and daughter Nancy Lillyquist of Sheboygan Falls; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Attendants at the wedding who were also present for the anniversary include: Mary Lou Beeck of Sheboygan Falls and Wayne Sandee of Mankato, Minn. Also attending was close personal friend, Kenny Boll.
