HAROLD F. MISKE

Harold F. Miske, age 89, of 217 First Ave., Adell, passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home.

He was born May 28, 1922, in Adell, a son of the late Oscar and Emelia (Bluhm) Miske. He attended school in Adell.

He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Action in the 157th Infantry, 14th Armored Division, 25th Tank Battalion from 1942-45 receiving a Purple Heart.

On Sept. 14, 1946, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Wassenberg. They made their home in Adell.

A molder by trade, he had been employed at J.M. Bruce Foundry in Cedar Grove for 27 years.

He had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell.

Harold was a member of the American Legion Post #462 in Adell.

In his spare time, Harold enjoyed woodworking and working in his garden.

His wife preceded him in death in 1986.

Survivors include one son, Larry of Adell; one grandson, Adrian Miske of Howards Grove and one granddaughter, Lindsay Buss of Texas; two sisters, Mildred (Victor) Hickendorf of Pueblo, Colo. and Leona (Wesley) Mulder of Sun Prairie, Wis.; and one brother, Roland Miske of Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jon and Robert; one daughter, Theresa Miske; one daughter-in-law, Rita; two brothers, Willard and Walter; and three sisters, Arlene Schipper and Romel Hesslink and infant sister Margaret Miske.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Christopher Seifferlein, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Inurnment will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth from 5 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service.
