Local girls teams open regionals at home

Plymouth, Howards Grove and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah begin girls regional basketball action at home.
Elkhart, a No. 3 seed, will host No. 14-seeded Niagara in a Division 5 first-round game Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinals Friday against the Florence-Lena winner.
PHS and Howards earned first-round byes. Plymouth, a No. 4 seed, will face fifth-seeded West Bend West Friday in a D-2 semifinal game at 7 p.m. The survivor moves on to the finals Saturday at the higher seed.
Howards received a No. 1 seed and will play the Dodgeland-St. Mary's Springs (Fond du Lac) victor in the semifinals Friday. Dodgeland is a No. 9 seed and Springs, No. 8. The finals are scheduled for Saturday at the higher seed.
