Snowmobile safety course scheduled

The Plymouth Snow Rangers will be holding their 37th annual snowmobile safety course for anyone over 10 years of age Dec. 1, 10 and 15 from 6-9 p.m. each night.

The classes are held at the Plymouth Snow Rangers clubhouse on the northeast corner of State 57 and County C, right next to the county wayside.

The class is also open to adults and parents are encouraged to attend with their children. The Snow Rangers will reimburse the class cost of two students for any club member.

Wisconsin law requires that anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1985, have a snowmobile safety course certificate to operate a snowmobile on Wisconsin snowmobile trails. Any student who will reach their 12th birthday by April 1, 2010, is eligible to take the course. Students will be required to attend all three classroom sessions in order to graduate. A final driver’s test will be held on land owned by the Snow Rangers at a later date.

For more information and/or to register, go to or call 892-2100 and leave a message. For any other questions about the class, call Mark Diels at 467-2204 after 6 p.m.

The class is limited to the first 38 students registered. If there are any openings, registration will be accepted the first night of the class. To do so, be at the Snow Rangers clubhouse by 5:45 p.m. Dec. 1.
