Meeting Minutes

The meeting of the Auxiliary of the Haslee-Doebert-Schmidt American Legion Unit 261 of Greenbush was called to order by President Kathy Bardon at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Greenbush Legion Hall.

A prayer was read by Chaplain Lorraine Gaffney. A moment of silence was observed for our deceased members.

Secretary’s minutes were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was read and filed for audit.

Motion was made by Gaffney and seconded by Joann Garner to send Karen Longrie a monetary donation to go to Haiti.

Motion was made by Liz Quackenboss and seconded by Gaffney to send a monetary donation for Christmas bags for Homeless Veterans.

The Americanism Contest starts now and goes through April 1, 2013. Remind your junior members of the opportunity.

Education week is Nov. 11-17.

Field Service hours are anything we do for a veteran outside of your home.

We had the Sheboygan County Auxiliary fall meeting Oct. 13. We had a memorial service for our deceased members. We had good attendance and we served a good lunch.

Quackenboss reported on the Sunshine Fund.

Rocky Knoll Bingo will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Volunteers are encouraged. It is hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary of Sheboygan County.

Members discussed the Veterans Appreciation Dinner to be held at noon Nov. 4 at the Greenbush Town Hall.

Door prize was won by Delores Miller.

A delicious lunch was served by Gaffney.

Members will continue to save pop-top tabs, food for the Food Pantry, aluminum cans, Sunshine Fund, and coupons from the Sunday paper.

Motion was made by Quackenboss and seconded by Miller to adjourn. Motion carried.

Hostess for the next meeting Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. will be Sue Bulon and Mary Cary. Our Badger Girls will give a presentation.
