AFS students visit capital

Six AFS (American Field Service) foreign exchange students visited the state capital recently and spent time learning about our state government with Representative, Steve Kestell. They are all U.S. State Department sponsored program students attending school in Sheboygan County. These programs offer international participants the opportunity to study in the United States on full scholarships funded either by grant-making foundations or by the Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau of the State Department, and embrace the Mission of AFS, to build a more just and peaceful world through international exchange. Three of the students attend Plymouth High School: Muzamil Khan from Pakistan, Najib Al-Haddad from Yemen and Laura Juenemann from Germany. Two are attending school at Sheboygan North: Layana Alazzaz from Saudi Arabia and Tamer Snober from Jordan. Nathaniel Cooper of Liberia is attending Sheboygan Christian High School.
