MARION EMELIE HEIDEMANN

Marion Emelie Heidemann (nee Habeck), age 86, of Belgium (formerly from Adell), died peacefully Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at home with the support of her family.

She was born March 20, 1926, in the town of Sherman, Wis., a daughter of the late Frederick and Alma (Miske) Habeck.

Marion was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Sherman Center where she was baptized, attended school, confirmed, married and will now be laid to rest.

On Sept. 23, 1950, she married the love of her life, Lester Heidemann. Marion and Lester farmed for many years in Adell while raising their family. Lester preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1992.

Marion had many hobbies. She was a member of the Mission Circle & Ladies Guild and enjoyed volunteering with 4-H activities as well as the PTA. She loved baking, reading, sewing, playing sheepshead, bird watching, and gardening. But her favorite activity above all else was spending time with family. She also enjoyed making the many beautiful wedding, anniversary and holiday cakes she decorated for her family and friends throughout the years. Marion will always be remembered for how patient and caring she was toward everyone involved in her life.

She was a loving mother whose survivors include her five children: Linda Zastrow of Oostburg, Daniel (Bonnie) Heidemann of Waldo, Randall (Lynell) Heidemann of Waldo, Sandra (Dean) Korb of Adell and Susan (Peter) Klas of Belgium; 11 grandchildren; five stepchildren; four great-grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Heidemann of Cedar Grove; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; one infant daughter, Cynthia Joy; two infant grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers, as well as numerous brother- and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherman Center (W5406 County SS). Pastor Randal Schoemann will preside.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the CHURCH on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in Marion’s name for St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center.
