Bett ignites Resorters to CLC win

SHEBOYGAN – Junior Antonio Bett poured in a season-high 27 points to power the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters past Sheboygan Christian, 50-45, in Central Lakeshore Conference boys basketball play here Tuesday night.

The Resorters broke a fivegame losing streak as they improved to 2-13 in the CLC (4-17 overall). The Eagles slipped to 5-10 in the league (6-15 overall).

“Antonio was awesome tonight with 27 points and seven boards,” said Resorter head coach Jim Brown.

“Luke Pritzl was huge tonight. He had 10 points and two huge baskets late in the fourth quarter to keep us in the lead, and a big steal to help in the cause.

“Derek Weiss had three huge steals for layups, and Derek and Antoniio sealed the deal at the [foul] line – going [a combined] 8 of 10 in the fourth,” Brown said.

“The key to game is we went to a zone in the second quarter and played it great.”

The Resorters outscored Christian 11-6 in the second period to go up 17-16 at halftime.

Elkhart made six more free throws than the Eagles.

Sophomore guard Caleb Kelley led the Eagles’ offense with 16 points.
