Horizon third-graders' Souper Bowl Challenge yields 335 cans

Between Jan. 14 and Feb. 1, students and staff donated 335 cans of soup.

In addition, Horizon conducted a Super Bowl of Reading to increase the independent reading of third-graders at home. Students who read for 20 minutes could move 20 yards on a football field displayed on a bulletin board.

“The kids were very motivated to make a touchdown, and several made more than one TD during our event,” said third-grade teacher Jackie Murphy.
