PHS cage event aids Sandy Hook

The Plymouth High School boys basketball program raised $2,666 for the Sandy Hook School Support Fund during a recent free- throwa thon.

The event was held Jan. 28 in the PHS gym. Players solicited donations from friends, families and local businesses.

“Plymouth boys basketball thanks all those who donated to this cause,” said Panther head coach Jason Duff.

The money was donated to the United Way of Western Connecticut, which with Newtown Savings Bank has created the Sandy Hook School Support Fund to provide support services to the families and community affected by the tragedy.
