Speakers from Johnsonville Sausage Inc. visited the Food Science Careers class taught by Sara Rupp and Sue Sell.

Sensory coordinator Becki Dewey and sensory scientist Kelsey Gent from Johnsonville Sausage Inc. gave a presentation to seventh graders. They offered a detailed overview of food science jobs, and also conducted a sensory taste test of three flavored gelatin samples.

“Sometimes the color we see in food leads us to believe that food will have a certain flavor,” Sell said. “Students found out otherwise.”
