Audrey June Thayer, age 82, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

She was born in Sheboygan on June 20, 1930, daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Schaff) Reinartz.

On Aug. 20, 1949, she married Stanley G. Thayer. He preceded her in death July 7, 2012, after 63 years of marriage.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan.

During her working years, she worked for the Hebberlien Drug Store and the Red Owl in Plymouth.

In her free time she enjoyed hitting the open road with her husband on the motorcycle, fishing, camping, collecting hummingbirds, and spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandson.

She is survived by two children, Glen (Connie Schulz) Thayer of Oshkosh and Corinne Franzen of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Russell Franzen Jr. of Sheboygan and Valerie (Craig) Huebschmann of Sheboygan Falls; a great-grandchild, Corbin Huebschmann; and a sister, Rita (John) Sackett of Sheboygan. Other relatives and friends further survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Norma Wolff and Karen Zimmermann.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 19, at the Schneider Funeral Home, Plymouth, with the Rev. Jim Connell, pastor of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan, officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the town of Mitchell.

The six men honored to serve as pallbearers for Audrey’s funeral are as follows: Dick Wolff, Ralph Wolff, Lawrence Fouts, Lance Corporal Ian Fouts of the USMC, Kraig Thayer and Leonard Helmer.
