The Tigers’ full-court press overwhelmed the Wolves’ offense and led to many of Howards’ 17 steals. Senior guard Cassie Marver led Howards in steals with five and Amber Reinemann had four.

Howards, a No. 5 seed, upped its record to 16-7 and made it five straight wins. The No. 12-seeded Wolves finished 3-19.

The Tigers advance to the semifinals Friday versus No. 4-seeded Weyauwega-Fremont at Weyauwega at 7 p.m. The finals are set for Saturday at 7 p.m.

“They struggled against our full-court pressure. I thought overall it was a good team win,” said Tiger head coach Heidi Georgeff.

“We had some nice contribution from a lot of people. Morgan Edge scored 10 points off the bench. We had some offensive balance which is a positive with three girls in double digits.”

Senior guard Payton Bramstedt led the Tigers’ attack with 12 points. Hayley Rickmeier chipped in with 10. Amber Reinemann and Taylor Benninghaus were the top rebounders with six apiece.

Reinemann and Brittany Wehrmann paced Howards in assists with four each. Rickmeier had a team-high four blocked shots.

“We still have to get better at finishing baskets but our defense was good enough tonight to get us a win,” Georgeff said.

Autumn Ferg led the Wolves in scoring with 12.
