Passport Day

To the Editor:

Passport Day in the U.S.A., this past Saturday, March 9, was a huge success! On behalf of my staff and me, I would like to thank everyone who took advantage of this convenient, but rare, opportunity of our office being open on a Saturday to apply for, or receive helpful assistance in renewing, a passport. The focus was on family travel and to ensure most parents would not have to miss work to apply for their child’s passport.

This was the first time the Sheboygan County Clerk’s Office joined in the U.S. State Department’s national event, and it proved to be a winner. The sound of kids playing, while waiting their turn, filled our office for most of the five hours.

Also, I am glad to report there was no additional cost to the county taxpayers to make this happen.

Jon Dolson,
Sheboygan County clerk,
