Masters Gallery, Crossroads win division crowns

Nigh Roofing’s Mike Hawley closes in. — Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH – Masters Gallery and Crossroads Community Church earned division titles in the Plymouth Men’s Basketball League playoffs March 20 at Riverview Middle School’s Jim Urness Gym.

Masters Gallery cruised past Nigh Roofing, 49-28, in the Lower Division finals. Andy Pfister paced Masters in scoring with 13 points and Sam Hau chipped in with 10. Masters was only 3-9 in the regular season before winning three straight games in the playoffs.

Nigh, which finished 9-6 overall, was led on offense by Mike Hawley with seven points and Nic Giebler, six. Nigh was also the runner-up last season.

Crossroads dethroned two-time defending champion Associated Bank with a 58-50 victory in the Upper Division championship game. Crossroads, which had the league’s best overall record of 13-1, trailed at halftime but had a strong fourth quarter to secure the win. Scott Jaeger and Ross Margden sparked the Crossroads attack with 14 points each.

“I personally want to thank all of the teams and their managers for competing in the league this year,” said Clayton Moore, Plymouth Community Education recreation and fitness coordinator.
