The Lord welcomed home on glorious Easter morning, March 31, 2013 Myrtie (Tauscher) Poweleit, age 86, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, Plymouth, where she has been a resident the past five years.

She was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Cheboygan, Mich., a daughter of the late Martha Neumann Tauscher Eigenberger and Milton Tauscher.

Myrtie became deaf at a young age due to illness. She attended Lincoln School for the Deaf in Sheboygan, Wis.

On May 16, 1953, she married Myron B. Poweleit in Milwaukee. Myrtie and Myron or M & M as they were lovingly known made their home in Milwaukee, Long Lake and for the past 25 years in Plymouth.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

Myrtie was a skilled seamstress and an accomplished baker. Easter dinner was never celebrated without the famous bunny cake. Myrtie had a special love for all her poodles and will be especially missed by her special friend Mattie.

Survivors include her husband, Myron Poweleit, Rocky Knoll, Plymouth; sister-inlaw, Ruth Tauscher, Kiel, and brothers-inlaw, Frederick (Donna) Poweleit, Watertown and Wayne (Barbara) Poweleit, Arkansas; as well as nieces, Vickie (Leon) McCabe, Peggy Tauscher, Mary Tauscher-Goo, Debbie Wilson, Margie Mallow and Karen White and nephew, Randolph Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Donald and Herbert Tauscher; sisters, Helen Loos and Eva Eigenberger; sister-in-law, Sue Tauscher and brothers in-law, Eugene Loos, Clem Eigenberger and Merle Poweleit.
