FOND DU LAC – Senior Cody Stange won the No. 3 singles flight to lead the Howards Grove Tigers in a four-team boys tennis tournament here last weekend at the Center Court Tennis Club.

The indoor tourney kicked off the Tigers’ season. Stange finished 2-0. The doubles portion of the tourney was held Friday and the singles competition took place Saturday.

Sheboygan Falls and Chilton tied for first place with 18 points each. Port Washington finished third with 10, followed by Howards at eight.

Posting 1-1 records for the Tigers were sophomore Luke Stanczyk at No. 2 singles, and senior Davis Nennig and sophomore Zach Fritz at No. 1 doubles.

“I was very happy with how we played for our first match [meet] of the season,” said Tiger head coach Elizabeth Hill.

“Our team has come a long way. We still have a lot to work on but the kids are eager to learn and improve.”

Falls was led by Jake Musil who won the No. 2 singles flight.
