Fit for you

Spring into a new you
by Scott Rejholec Master Personal Trainer Form and Fitness

Have you ever wanted to complete a 5K run?

Is it on your bucket list, but you haven’t figured out how on earth you’re going to successfully prepare for one?

If so, todays article will lead you to the right program.

First and foremost, it is important that you know the benefits of the type of training this program will require.

Long slow distance (LSD) exercise is a method of endurance training in either running or cycling to where your body is in a constant low to moderate intensity for more than 60 seconds.

Other than the obvious benefit of improving your endurance, LSD improves cardiovascular function (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and increases your body’s use of fat for energy.

To find the Couch to 5K program, Google “Couch to 5K” and follow the first link.

The website will provide you with an easy to follow 9-week program that consists of three workouts each week

From my experience, it’s a great way to successfully start from low to moderate physical level, to being able to complete 3.1 miles.

Once an individual is given the tools to make a difference, there are no more excuses. It’s now on you to make a difference and become a healthier, more positive person.
