DOROTHY LYNCH

Dorothy Lynch, 92, of Elkhart Lake, was promoted to glory when she went home to be with her Savior she loved so dearly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility.

Dorothy Melvina was born to Leroy and Ivy Shinn on July 24, 1920, in Merrill, Wis., and spent all of her life in Upper Michigan and Wisconsin.

She married Edward Lynch on July 26, 1941. Ed and Dorothy lived in Kiel for more than 50 years. She was a devout Christian, a faithful wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her wonderful sense of humor, her love for Jesus, and her sacrificial love were hallmarks of her life. Ed and Dorothy loved to take cross-country driving vacations, brought the gospel of Jesus Christ to men at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Facility for over 25 years and did everything together for the 63 years they were married. Dorothy held an in-home Bible study every week until she was 86 years old.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Beverly) of New Holstein; daughter, Gail Gahagan (Dave) of Elkhart Lake; six grandchildren: Jesse Barts, Jason Barts (Kristen), Jodi Faust (Mark), Scott Lynch (Barb), Mark Lynch and Shawn Lynch; 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at her home church, First Baptist Church, Kiel, Wis., on Saturday afternoon, April 13, with Pastor Steve Schultz officiating.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the loving care that Dorothy received from the staff at Rocky Knoll.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, he that lives and believes in me shall never die.” And she lived happily ever after.
