Board members sworn in

HOWARDS GROVE — Howards Grove school Board President Jeff Elzinga read the oath of office to re-elected board members Kimberly Plass and Richard Hemb at the April School Board meeting.

Plass and Hemb were recently re-elected to three-year terms.

A motion was approved to set the annual meeting for Monday, Sept. 16, to be held with the regular board meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. The budget meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. with the annual meeting to be held at 8:00 p.m. All of the meeting will be held in the high school library.

Richard Pearce and Mark DeAmico were appointed to accept the graduating class of 2013 during the commencement ceremony, which will be held June 9 at 2 p.m.

Plass was appointed to be the Howards Grove representative for the CESA 7 Convention.

A special board meeting will be held Monday, May 13, at 4:30 p.m. and will be held in the district office.

Elzinga acknowledged and expressed gratitude to the Lions Club for their donation to the Project Grill program in appreciation for the use of one of the grills.

The Howards Grove Athletic Club donated money to the athletic department to be used for the purchase of high jump pit and volleyball standards.
