Resorters sweep twinbill

STOCKBRIDGE – The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters banged out 17 hits in both games as they swept a nonconference softball doubleheader Monday from Stockbridge, 13-7 and 14-9.

Elkhart upped its record to 2-1. Both games were shortened to five innings due to the Resorters’ very busy schedule this week which includes six contests.

Jordan Shaw ignited the Resorters’ attack in game one with four hits. Emily Grunewald, Aryanna Klemme, Charity Rodriguez _ _ _ and Emma Feldmann added two each. Shaw also scored a team-high three runs.

Elkhart’s offense in the nightcap was spearheaded by Klemme, Rachael Flora and Rodriguez with three hits each. Grunewald, Shaw and Emma Gross contributed two apiece. Klemme led in runs with three.

Klemme was the winning pitcher in both games, including a complete game in the opener.

“Overall, I was pleased with the hitting in game one. We were aggressive again at the plate in game two,” said Resorter head coach Brian Feldmann.

“In her first game on the mound, Rachael Flora pitched well with Klemme in game two.”
