Meeting Minutes

The meeting of the Auxiliary of the Haslee-Doebert-Schmidt Unit 261 American Legion was called to order by President Kathy Bardon at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Greenbush Legion Hall.

A prayer was read by Chaplain Lorraine Gaffney. A moment of silence was observed for our deceased members.

Eight senior members answered roll call.

Secretary’s minutes were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was filed for audit.

The Sheboygan County Council spring meeting will be held Saturday, April 13, at Unit 243 of Plymouth.

April is Children and Youth Month.

Our Legion members will have an Easter Egg Hunt at the Legion Hall at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Members are to have one dozen Easter eggs at the hall by 11 a.m.

Chris Koenigs has agreed to continue to be our membership chairperson. Thanks, Chris.

Motion was made by Liz Quackenboss and seconded by Mary Cary to donate one book of Forever Stamps to Camp American Legion.

The 2nd District Raffle tickets were turned in.

Results of Community Hours and the February Fun Calendar should be turned in by April.

Members will judge the Poppy Poster Contest at the April meeting.

Quackenboss reported on the Sunshine Fund.

Delores Miller reported that there are 37 veterans at Rocky Knoll. Each received a memento for Christmas.

Members discussed the May 5 Brat Fry, Chicken Roast & Raffle. Please sell or buy your tickets and have them back at the hall before 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5.

The auxiliary will clean the hall and set up tables at 9 a.m. Friday, May 3.

Members will continue to save pop-top tabs, aluminum cans, food for the Food Pantry, coupons from the Sunday paper, and the Sunshine Fund.

Kay Keyes won the door prize.

A delicious lunch was served by Bernie Strong.

Motion was made by Miller and seconded by Del Fenner to adjourn. Motion carried.
