Senior Jessica Larson, a midfielder-forward, kicked the gamewinning goal eight minutes into overtime, assisted by Morgan Edge.

“I’m very proud of the way the girls played. I thought we played hungry and our hustle helped us control the majority of the game,” said Tiger head coach Eric Worth.

“We had a lot of opportunities to put the ball into the back of the net but we weren’t able to capitalize. Overall, it’s a good win for and I’m very pleased with our effort.”

Howards raised its CLC record to 2-1 (same overall). It was the Tigers’ second straight overtime victory.

The Crusaders grabbed a 1-0 lead only about two minutes into the game when Mandi Baker scored off of a cross by a teammate. The Tigers knotted the match, 1-1, on a goal by junior forward Allison Schmid with about 10 minutes left until halftime.

The Tigers dominated on offense – holding a 23-9 advantage in shots on goal. Tiger goalkeeper Brittany Wehrmann was credited with six saves.
