Resorters play long ball in CLC rout

The victory upped the Resorters’ CLC record to 3-3 (5-3 overall).

Emily Grunewald, Charity Rodriguez and Emma Feldmann each slugged a round-tripper for the Resorters. Rodriguez led in RBIs with four and hits, three.

Rachael Flora and Miranda Sippel contributed two hits each for Elkhart. The Resorters busted the game open with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to mount a 12-3 lead. The game ended after six due to the 10-run rule.

Aryanna Klemme fired a threehitter to earn the win. Klemme allowed two earned runs and only two walks while striking out six.

This was a good home opener for us,” said Resorter head coach Brian Feldmann.

Jenna Bares led the Rams in hits with two.

Elkhart avenged a tough 8-7 loss to the Rams on April 25 at Random Lake. The Rams rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the win.

Sippel, Jordan Shaw and Feldmann led Elkhart’s attack with two hits apiece. Rodriguez had a teambest two RBIs.

Klemme was the losing hurler, although she allowed just four earned runs.
