A UMF thank you

To the Editor:

Thank you for all of the love and support of this year’s Unity Music Festival, which took place at the most prestigious place in Sheboygan - The Weill Center for the Performing Arts on April 6.

This has surely turned out to be a community effort and a labor of love. Thanks to all of the musically talented people and dancers who spent endless hours of practicing.

The performers ranged from second grade to age 100.

Thanks to all who donated beautiful baskets, quilts, woodworking items, photographs, cards, beauty shop items and more.

Thanks to Chef Clint, Tina and Tracy for the gala appetizer buffet. Thank you also goes to Miesfields, Gibbsville Cheese, Gosse’s, Schwarz’s, Larry’s Distributing, Pepsi, Chissy’s, Festival Foods, Plymouth Wine & Cheese, Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly (Sheboygan Falls), Pick’n Save (Sheboygan). Piggly Wiggly (Plymouth), and all who donated to the cause.

Thanks to the gold, silver, bronze, and friends sponsors, including our show sponsor A Positive Attitude (www.apositiveattitude.com), Mersberger Financial Group, which sponsored our master of ceremonies Mark Tauscher and The Brotz Foundation, which sponsored eight pianos from Heid Music out of Appleton.

Thanks to Bob Grosshuesh for tuning all of the pianos. I am also grateful to Stardust Limousine Service for bringing Mark Tauscher and friends to the Weill Center in style.

Thank you to the Kettle Karvers, who spent endless hours carving the beautiful Serenity Bench and Unity Cane.

I am appreciative of Daven Claerbout and his great auctioneer skills, the prayer tree and all of you who volunteered your time in some way to make a magical night come to life for a great cause.

We had over 700 people and raised $35,229.30, which brought us to a grand total of $239,697.30 over the last nine years. That is amazing!

This will help a lot of people right here in our community.

These are people you and I may know. Just by coming to the show, you helped.

Save the date and pass the word on for next year’s show, which is set for April 12, 2014

Help help me fill the house. You won’t be disappointed.

Mary Ann Waldbauer
