Mary Jo Blackburn, age 76, of Elkhart Lake, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, May 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 27, 1936 in Eyota, Minn., a daughter of the late Norbert and Frances Brown Krenzke. She attended Eyota Elementary School (Minnesota) and graduated from Elgin High School (Minnesota) in 1954.

On April 7, 1956, Mary Jo married Paul Earl Blackburn at St. John Catholic Church in Winona, Minn. The couple resided in Minnesota after their marriage, moving to Plymouth (Wis.) in 1966.

She was employed with the Plymouth Industrial Products Co. and also drove for Johnson School Bus for 35-plus years. Mary also worked at the Sheboygan County Fair for many years.

Mary Jo was a member of the Plymouth Eagle’s Club and participated in many ladies pool league and the Eagles State Pool tournaments for many years. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Paul of Elkhart Lake; two sons, David (Donna) Blackburn of Sheboygan Falls and Roger Blackburn of Milwaukee; four daughters: Karen (Ron) Wright of Two Rivers, Linda Otte of Illinois, Debbie (Paul) Pfeifer of Sheboygan Falls and Brenda (Larry) Wright of Elkhart Lake; one brother, Charles Krenzke of Ohio; one sister, Sharon Krenzke of Wabasha, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by one son, Douglas; one grandson, Tyler Wright; and one son-in-law, Donald Otte.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Fr. Dan Lasecki will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in the town of Sheboygan.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4 p.m. Friday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mary Jo’s name.
