OOSTBURG – The Howards Grove Tigers earned their third straight Central Lakeshore Conference title with a 7-2 win over Oostburg here Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers finished 12-3 in the CLC and ended the regular season at 12-9. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah swept a doubleheader against Sheboygan Lutheran/Kohler Tuesday to clinch second as it improved to 10-4 in the league.

Senior Katie Sohn twirled a two-hitter for the win. She al- lowed no earned runs and walked just two.

Amber Reinemann ignited the Tigers’ bats with four hits, including a double and triple. Sarah Scheiber had three hits, including two triples, and Valerie Free and Kara Bell had two each. Scheiber led in RBIs with two.

Kim Van Stelle and Sarah Duenk had the Lady Dutch’s hits.

“We played an excellent allaround game after playing a nightmare of a game the previous night [in a loss to Elkhart],” said Tiger head coach Tom Heier.

“I am proud of my players for their continued effort and neversay die attitude.”
