Janice “Toots” Wehse, 81, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 19, 2013, surrounded by family, including a special niece, Diane Vey, at Rocky Knoll, where she had been a resident for the last two months.

Janice was born Feb. 29, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wis.

She wed James A. Wehse on April 16, 1950. The family resided in Milwaukee until 1971, when they moved to Cascade, Wis. Living in Cascade, they enjoyed playing sheepshead, bowling at Bilmar and fishing the many area lakes.

Janice worked most of her life including her time at Comprehensive Health Care in Waldo and most recently owned a successful home cleaning business in Pahrump, Nev. She was also a foster mom to several gals in the Cascade area including Brenda Brietzman, Terry Cummings and Michell Thompson.

Janice moved many times in her life, living in Milwaukee, Hubertus and Cascade, Wis.; Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nev.; Forest City, N.C., and Dayton, Tenn. She moved back to Plymouth in February of this year, to be near family.

Their marriage produced six beautiful children: Joanne Waller (partner, Kirk Earhart), Rutherfordton, N.C.; Jackie Simerlein (partner, Arthur Richardson), Bedford, Ind.; Terry Wehse (wife, Rosie), Plymouth; Jeannie Dellepiane (partner, Donna Morrison), Fort Worth, Texas; Tim Wehse (wife, Jodi), Dayton, Tenn., and Judy Gardapee (special friend, Chris K.), Plymouth.

Janice had 11 grandchildren: Paul Weiss, Elkhart Lake; Erik Rosin, Wild Rose, Wis.; Ryan Wehse, Green Bay; Samantha Wehse, Plymouth; Amber Nolte, Boulder City, Nev.; Mandy Jackson and Megan Dellepiane, both of Texas; Celena, TJ, Dayton and Cassie Wehse, all of Dayton, Tenn. She also had three great-grandchildren: Derek Weiss, Elkhart Lake; Alexander Nolte, Boulder City, Nev.; and the newest bundle of joy, Tyson Payne, Plymouth.

She is survived by her sister, Millie Kruse and husband, Jim, of Fond du Lac; brother-inlaw, Dewaine Kluge of Hartford; many nieces and nephews (she was the “Greatest Auntie Janice” to Charlie) and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; father and mother, Walter and Mildred Hauser; her sisters, De Ehrmann and Kathy Kluge; a niece, Debbie Kruse; and her in-laws, Al and Olive Wehse.

Per Mom’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no memorial service. Just think of a fond memory you have of her and raise your glass in a toast!

Our family will be together in June for Ryan and Amanda’s wedding, at which time we will remember all of the prior weddings where Mom could be seen doing the polka and being the life of the party!

She is with Dad again....
