PLYMOUTH 1

PLYMOUTH – Sigrun Adalgeirsdottir’s goal five minutes into the second half gave the Plymouth Panthers a 1-0 win over East Troy in a Division 2 girls regional soccer opener here Thursday evening.

Becca Ebbott assisted on the game-winner. The No. 7-seeded Panthers upped their record to 14-3-3. East Troy was a No. 10 seed.

The Panthers’ stellar defense held the Trojans to zero shots on goal. PHS attempted eight shots on goal.

“We completely controlled the game on their half of the field. We possessed well and switched the field,” said Panther head coach Brad Feick.

“East Troy defended well and kept us out of the net. We made a few adjustments at halftime to create more space in front of the net, and Sigrun was able to finish. Sarah Gamoke and Haley Olsen had great attempts on goal.
