Warren C. “Rocky” Rhines, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Thursday morning, May 30, 2013, at Pine Haven Residential Home where he had resided since September.

Warren was born March 5, 1928 in Sheboygan Falls, the son of Clarence and Selma (Maas) Rhines. Warren graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946.

He served in the U.S. Army in Japan from 1950-52.

On Feb. 6, 1954, he married Bernice Krepsky in Sheboygan.

Warren was an installer for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years before his retirement in 1985.

Warren was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls and the VFW Post #9156 in Sheboygan.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcarving, sketching, and spending time at the cottage in Florence. Warren was a Green Bay Packer fan.

Warren is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernice; three daughters, Peggy (Joel) Tauschek, Karen (Scott) Willadsen and Cheryl (Scott) Allen, all of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Amy (David) Engeldinger, Joshua (Holly Roska) Tauschek, Kate (friend, Bryan Anich) Tauschek, Sara and Andy Willadsen; seven greatgrandchildren; three step great- grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Irene Schultz, Dorothy Schultz and Vernetta (Ray) Kohlmann, all of Sheboygan, and June (Bob) Fisher of Plymouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, an infant, Herbert and Clarence (Jeannie) Rhines.

A memorial service and military honors to celebrate Warren’s life were held Sunday afternoon, June 2, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating.

A memorial fund has been established in Warren’s name for Pine Haven Christian Communities and the VFW Post #9156.
