The Flames advance to the semifinals Wednesday against defending champion Kewaskum at 6:30 p.m. The A’s routed the Saukville Saints, 15-2, in Wednesday’s other first-round game.

In Friday night’s first-round play, the Forest ACs clobbered the Branch Blaze, 12- 3; and the Brownsville 49ers downed the Milwaukee Angels, 5-2. Forest will face Brownsville in Wednesday’s other semifinal matchup which will start at about 8:30 p.m. (following the Plymouth-Kewaskum contest).

Christenson, a former standout at Sheboygan Falls High School, struck out 11, walked only three and allowed one earned run on five hits en route to a complete game win.

“Travis is rounding into form after a late start this season [due to college]. He got his breaking ball over which is the key for him,” said Flame player-manager Rick

Meyer.

“We played well and built on the win over the Cedarburg Mercs last Sunday. This was a good team win. We want to do well in our own tournament.”

Plymouth tallied four runs in the top of the third inning to grab a 4-0 lead. The Flames rapped out four hits in the frame, including an RBI single by Jake Klemme.

Joel Fabian kick-started the uprising with a leadoff single and a steal of second base. He later scored on Klemme’s hit.

The Flames tacked on three insurance runs in the sixth. Klemme’s RBI single was the key hit.

Klemme, Paul Gloede and Fabian paced the Flames in hits with two each. Fabian also scored a team-high two runs.

Klemme led Plymouth in RBIs with two. The Flames stole six bases, led by Ryan Wachter’s two.

Max Pruefer and Max Caske led the Express at the plate with two hits apiece. Pruefer drove in Grafton’s lone run with a double in the fifth.
