The win hiked the Flames’ record to 9-6 and snapped a fourgame losing streak. Wednesday night, Plymouth lost to the visiting Grafton Express, 10-6, in a Land O’ Lakes Baseball League Northern Division matchup.

Ryan Wachter, Dusty Medved and Travis Christenson led the Flames’ hit parade with three each. Jake Klemme, Chris Bennin and Nick Wilson added two apiece.

Christenson paced the Flames in RBIs with three and Bennin contributed a pair. David Albrecht belted a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Wachter scored a team-high three runs.

Devin Christenson threw a twohit shutout. He allowed one earned run and two walks while striking out six.

Christenson pitched no-hit ball over the last four innings. The game was called after 6½ frames due to the 12-run rule.

GRAFTON GAME

The Express built a 10-2 lead and then held off a late rally by the Flames to notch the win. Plymouth scored four runs in the ninth and had the bases loaded when the game ended. Michael DuCharme hit an RBI double and Dusty Medved and Joel Fabian had run-scoring singles in the ninth.

Poor defense hurt the Flames who committed a season-high seven errors which led to six unearned runs by the Express.

Nick Wycklendt, the winning pitcher, sparked Grafton’s attack with three hits and three RBIs. Wycklendt went the distance and gave up six earned runs on 11 hits with five walks, six strikeouts and a hit batter.

The Flames, who stranded 12 baserunners, were led in hits by Dave Stecker and Fabian with three apiece. Medved added two hits and a team-best three RBIs.

The losing hurler was starter Travis Christenson who allowed seven runs (four earned) on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts in six innings.

Grafton upped its division record to 5-2 and Plymouth slipped to 4-3.
